Dear Friend of the Temple Theatre,
Thank you for your generous support which has allowed us to survive during these uncertain economic times and keep the lights of the Temple Theatre shining in historic downtown Sanford.
As we plan our 2010-2011 Season a pledge of any amount from you could be the difference that helps Temple Theatre to not just survive, but thrive. We are grateful for your support and will continue to stay true to our mission to entertain, educate, and enlighten audiences of Central North Carolina through the art of live theatre.
Please help us to keep the #1 tourist attraction in Lee County in operation. The Temple Theatre brings over 32,000 visitors to Sanford annually, serves over 5,500 area youth through our youth programs and adds 1.4 million dollars to the local economy! We are thoroughly restructuring our operations and will work from a reduced budget in the 2009/2010 season. The staff has taken pay cuts and forfeited our benefits. We have expanded our youth programming in order to generate additional income. We have expanded our outreach and collaboration with other regional theatres and universities in order to share ideas and resources. We have an ambitious plan to upgrade our management by reducing expenses, improving our marketing and contracting for increased revenue from other uses of our facility such as independent productions, concerts, workshops and special events.
We have six exciting productions we are considering for the 2010/2011. Over the next five years, we are planning many things to open the Temple Theatre to a wide array of performances and events that appeal to all generations and tastes. In the meantime, we have an ongoing need for cash and ask you, our friend, to donate whatever amount is comfortable for you.
The economy will turn around and we will be here due to our proactive creative strategies, sound fiscal management and donations and support from friends like you.
Thank you,
Peggy Taphorn Producing Artistic Director
