Tom received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in performance from Stephen F. Austin State University and his Masters of Fine Arts in performance from the University of South Carolina. As a member of the Temple staff, Tom serves as Director of Education, Sound Designer, Web Master and can be seen performing on the Temple Stage. Some of Tom’s Temple credits include Peter in Prelude To A Kiss, Starbuck in The Rainmaker, The Creature in Temple’s original production of Frankenstein, A Modern Prometheus and Mr. Van Dan in The Diary of Anne Frank and most recently Valene In The Lonesome West which performed at the Stoneleaf Theatre Festival in Asheville, NC.
Before joining the Temple Staff, Tom lived in South Carolina where he taught theatre for 5 years at Newberry College, was the drama director for “Dramarama”, a drama camp for “at risk” teens, recorded over 40 radio commercials, taught numerous residencies for the South Carolina Arts Commission and performed professionally with the North Carolina Shakespeare Festival, Classic Theatre Alliance in Augusta, Georgia, The Shakespeare Theatre In Washington, DC, Trustus Theatre in Columbia, SC, spent 7 years as a company member with the South Carolina Shakespeare Company and spent 3 years as a member of the professional improv comedy troupe the We’re Not Your Mother players.
Some of Tom's acting credits include: Damis in Tartuffe, Oberon/Theseus in A Midsummer Night's Dream, Polixenes in A Winter's Tale, Antipholus of Syracuse in The Comedy of Errors, Trinculo in The Tempest, Don Pedro in Much Ado About Nothing, Petruchio in The Taming of the Shrew, Leontes in The Winter's Tale, The Chorus in Henry V, Gene in Side Man, Eddie Carbone in A View from the Bridge, Jerry in Betrayal and he originated the role of Actor 3 in Stephen Belber’s The Transparency of Val.
