Temple Theatre’s Winter Youth Conservatory is designed to challenge as well as teach upper middle and high school students. The conservatory is centered on a play (usually classical in nature) and involves a section in teaching the “style” of performance, followed by rehearsals and finally the production. Unlike the Summer Conservatory, participants must audition for the Winter Conservatory and are then cast in specific roles.
The Winter Conservatory production is done in the early spring and is intended for those who are serious about intensive theatrical study and commitment. Past productions include William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, George Tabori’s Brecht On Brecht and Romeo and Juliet. This year the Temple Theatre Winter Conservatory will present:

Who is Eligible

The production is open to anyone from the age of 14-19. Due to the nature of the material and the complexity with which it is conveyed to the participants it is necessary that we limit participation to “older youth”.

Auditions
- Auditions are by appointment at Temple Theatre until February 6th and rehearsals will start February 13th.
- You need to have prepared at least one monologue from any Shakespeare play but I would prefer that you prepare two contrasting Shakespeare monologues (Comedic/Tragic) and be prepared to read from the script.
- No prior knowledge is necessary to audition and be a part of the production.
