Welcome to the Temple Theatre’s 29th season, A Season of Silver Linings! Over the past 29 years we have entertained, engaged, enlightened, educated and enriched our audiences and youth through our productions, conservatories and special events. Our Season of Silver Linings includes a strong collection of award-winning music, original adaptations, musicals, dramas, comedies, family friendly productions, regional premieres and a classic masterpiece.

As Central Carolina’s Performing Arts Center, Temple Theatre attracts audiences from several major counties, namely from, Durham, Lee, Wake, Chatham, Orange, Moore, Harnett and Cumberland counties. Temple Theatre’s diverse and regional audiences have allowed us to not only survive but thrive. With seven professional Mainstage productions, winter and summer youth conservatories and many special events offered year-round, Temple Theatre is proud to serve as an icon of the Live Arts for North Carolina.

Last season we installed a state-of-the-art lighting system, approximately a $140,000 upgrade, with special contributions coming from Downtown Sanford, Inc., a grant from the N.C. Department of Commerce and our wonderful Temple Theatre patrons who made donations and supported our fundraising events. This season you will notice a continuation of improvements and our commitment to build upon our proud history. We are unveiling a new concession lounge, updated restrooms, and a new custom database driven and dynamic website. Silver Linings indeed, and it takes our dedicated staff, board members, corporate involvement and a supportive and passionate community to make it all happen. Your participation allows the Temple Theatre to remain the economic engine and the heart of Historic Downtown Sanford.

For the past 29 seasons, you have created memories, laughed, cried, and sang along with us. You’ve brought us into your lives and hearts, and for that we are so grateful. Great performances inspire more than the audience, it inspires communities. I look forward to seeing you at the Temple!
