Temple Theatre offers wonderful programs that challenge young people to learn and explore their imagination and creativity.
Each school year, the Temple Theatre produces an professional show for elementary and middle school audiences, designed to perform in gymnasiums, auditroiums, or other multi-purpose spaces in schools throughout the region. This year's production, Flutterby, will be on the road from February 27 through March 24, 2017. This year's school tour show focuses on acceptance, social media use, and toxic friendships. It is best suited for audiences K-8.
Exclusive matinees are performed for students from across the region. In addition to the performance, the cast is introduced and participates in a question and answer session with the students. For more information, click here.
The Temple Academy coincides with the school year, but offers instruction to students of all ages and skill levels. Classes include Acting, Voice, Dance, and Tap. For more information, click here.
Each summer, Temple Theatre conducts four Summer Youth Conservatories. Young people ages 8-18 are given instruction in dance, voice, and drama. Each conservatory runs for two weeks and culminates in a full musical production on the Temple stage. Registration for the 2017 Summer Conservatory will begin on April 5, 2017 at 9am in the Temple lobby. THE RISING STARS
For 4 to 7 year olds, the Temple wil conduct six different one week workshops. Each of the weeks features a different theme. Students will receive instruction on song and dance in a positive, wholesome environment. During each session, daily classes will be held from 10:00 to Noon. At the completion of the course, students will share what they have been working on with family and friends.
Students may attend as many of the sessions as they choose. Pricing is as follows: $100/week, $250 for 3 weeks, or $450 for 6 weeks. Each session is limited to 15 students. A thirty minute high energy song and dance routine featuring musical numbers from Temple's current season are performed in the Sanford-area by local teenagers who are led under the direction of Temple Theatre Directors and special instructors. The Temple Teens are highly acclaimed and have become one of the favorite additions to major local events.
