The Summer Youth Conservatory is an opportunity for young people ages 8-18 to come together for a three week camp where they attend a variety of workshop style classes in acting, auditioning, voice, movement, technical theatre and more. All classes are led by the Temple Theatre staff and special guest instructors, who are all professionals in their field. The classes promote team work, discipline, self-confidence and learning to "walk in someone else's shoes". It all culminates in a full production in front of a live audience.
2014 is the 13th consecutive year for the Conservatory. It has consistently grown and now features 92 students split between two separate sessions. This summer's show is The Aristocats, a feline adventure that is sure to get audiences tapping their feet to its upbeat, jazzy beat with a score that includes the Disney favorites 'The Aristocats', 'Scales and Arpeggios' and 'Ev'rybody Wants to Be a Cat'.
